Back to winter: what is it?

In Canada, a student year is divided into three 4-month parts, termed semesters, or sessions depending on the institution. The two main periods unfold: from September to December and from January to April.

Generally, students begin their university studies in September. However, starting your Canada study overseas in January is no problem, as schools are organized to offer you this opportunity. This is the case of a large number of university courses. The programs offered in January are absolutely the same as in September, as are the diplomas awarded.

Some courses equivalent to the DUTs also allow this flexibility.

How to start in January?

Once you have found the program of study that is right for you, you submit your application to the appropriate institution. For the winter season, requests are made during the summer. The deadline is generally 15 September for foreign students, sometimes until 30 September.
